Adobe ScanAdobe has launched a new app called Adobe Scan, which can convert captured images into PDFs on your smartphone. Powered by Adobe Sensei's intelligent services, it transforms your mobile devices into an intelligent scanning and text recognition tool.
To be precise, one can make use of advanced scanning capabilities on Adobe Scan such as image boundary identification, perspective correction, auto-crop and other refinements to obtain clearer texts in PDF format.
Adobe Scan employs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to capture scanned text and then translate them into character codes such as ASCII for data processing.
"Adobe Scan, powered by Adobe Sensei's intelligent services, represents a critical step toward our broader innovation imperative for Adobe Document Cloud," says Abhay Parasnis, Chief Technology Officer at Adobe.
Adobe Scan is available as a free download on iOS and Android along with access to a free Adobe Document Cloud account for uploading, accessing, sharing and storing the scanned documents.
"Snap a picture of any document or anything with printed text and Adobe Scan will automatically convert it into digital text that can be selected, copied or annotated with Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC. The content then becomes searchable and reusable in a secure and reliable Adobe PDF," reads the official product description.
