Lipstick Under My Burkha trailer
After months of wrangle for a certification from the Censor Board, the official trailer of "Lipstick Under My Burkha" takes a dig at CBFC, which earlier refused to certify the movie terming it as "lady-oriented".

"The most controversial film of the year is here," announces the trailer that begins with news coverage on the film's subject of chronicling the secret lives of four women.

The trailer has "abusive words," "sexual scenes," and "audio porn," the reasons cited by Censor Board to reject the movie, but also has generous mentions of men constantly attempting to show the women "their place."

An ageing widow reawakens her sexual fantasy over phone conversations, a housewife and mother of three yearns for employment, a small-town girl's reluctance to enter a wedlock that she doesn't approve of, and a college girl's aspiration to become a pop sensation. The four women and their struggles to live a life they desire but grappled with the morales dictated by patriarchy is the story of "Lipstick Under My Burkha".

Be it a husband turning down wife's desire to work saying "don't try to be the man of the house," or a younger relatives shaming a 55-year old for her "obscene clothes," the film taunts the moral policing on woman. This, however, doesn't deter the women from continuing their passion.

Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Aahana Kumra, and Plabita Borthakur play the lead roles in this movie produced by Prakash Jha, and presented by Shobhaa Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
