The new BMW 5 Series gets a number of updates with this 2017 iteration. The biggest of which can easily be seen on the exterior profile of the luxury sedan. The 5 Series now comes with a design that takes some of its inspiration from the bigger and plusher 7 Series sedan. This update gives the sedan a mature stance. The front gets the traditional BMW wrap-around headlamps, sitting in the middle of which are the chrome surrounded kidney shaped dual grille. The bumper gets detailed augmentations, providing the 5 Series with a bit of a sporty touch. The side profile gets a streamlined design with the rear profile boasting of an aggressive stance.
The cabin of the new BMW 5 Series is to come loaded with features and creature comforts up to the brim. The dashboard layout is clean and simple in nature; traditional BMW design. The upholstery is draped in leather, the colour of which you can choose. There are piano-black panels along with silver highlights scattered across the cabin adding a bit of character. The 2017 BMW 5 Series gets all the bells and whistles, it comes with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, dynamic cruise control, Navigation, Bluetooth telephony to name a few.
The new BMW 5 Series will be available to choose from two engine options; one petrol and one diesel. The former gets a new 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder motor pumping out 248Bhp along with 349Nm of peak torque while the latter is a 3.0-litre, inline, 6-cylinder unit producing 335BHp along with 450Nm of peak torque. Both the engine will be paired as standard to an automatic gearbox.
Now to the price, the new BMW 5 Series is expected to start at a base price of INR 50 lakh with the top of the line variant likely to cost INR 65 lakh to own (ex-showroom).
