She spent her 38th birthday at the BET Awards in Los Angeles with her son Kiyan on Sunday.
And her ex Carmelo Anthony clearly took notice of the woman who he had a 13-year relationship with for her special day.
In the early hours of Monday morning, Carmelo took to Instagram to post a glowing tribute to La La.
'I look at you on this birthday, and it is hard to believe another year has passed,' he wrote on his Instagram alongside a photo the Power actress posted on Sunday.
'You are as beautiful now as ever before!!! Sending Birthday wishes to MY EARTH,' he continued in the gushing post.
It was revealed in April of this year that La La and Carmelo had split after he was said to have gotten another woman pregnant. She was soon after seen around New York City without her wedding ring.
Carmelo popped the question on Christmas of 2004, but they did not marry until 2010.
They are making an effort to co-parent their son, being spotted together with Kiyan on Mother's Day in May.
When asked if the family will get back together, she told Entertainment Tonight, 'We're always a family no matter what.'
La La has been keeping busy, she appears on season four of Power, which debuted on her birthday Sunday.
Speaking to ET , she told Kevin Fraiser, 'I just wrapped an incredible movie with Whoopi Goldberg and Tessa Thompson. I'm working!'
That movie appears to be Furlough, which filmed in the Hudson Valley of New York and also stars Anna Paquin.
Furlough will center around a prisoner who is granted a weekend out of jail to visit her ailing mother, but the corrections officer sent to watch her has a hard time keeping an eye on her.
La La will play a character named Brandy, but her role in the plot of the story is not yet known.
In addition to her acting projects, she revealed she is also writing a book and dropping a clothing line over the summer.
