Chrome Beta 60 offers new search widget, context menu, and more

Google has released the Chrome Beta 60 for Android which features a few minor changes, including a new search widget available that opens up the browser once you tap on it.
Google actually developed it as part of an anti-trust lawsuit settlement in Russia. What happened was that a company called Yandex said that Google violated local competition rules, and the settlement agreement required Google to develop a widget capable of changing between search engines.
The next new feature is one that I’m sure a lot of you will welcome with open arms. With Chrome 60, those annoying malware ads that pop up on your screen from time to time won’t make your device vibrate anymore, unless you tap on the page first.
There’s also a new context menu available, which is the menu that appears when you tap and hold on a link or an image in Chrome.  It adds an icon next to each item on the list, which does make the whole thing look a bit nicer. See for yourself down below.

The new context menu is actually turned off by default, but you can turn it on by enabling the #enable-custom-context-menu flag.
The last thing worth mentioning is a new file picker, which appears every time you want to upload a file. It doesn’t really do anything new but does look a bit different than before. It’s also turned off by default, so you’ll have to turn it on manually if you want to use it — #enable-new-photo-picker flag.
Those of you who want to try out the latest version of Chrome Beta can download it to your device via the button below.
