Port-of-Spain: Even as Team India prepared for the opening match of the ODI series against West Indies, beginning Friday, they were paid a surprise visit by a player who has had a long standing relationship with both West Indies and Indian cricket.
Star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, along with half-brother Darren Bravo, met some of the Indian players at the Queen's Park Oval when the 'Men in Blue' were busy practicing. Both the players are not part of West Indies' squad for the first two ODIs against India.
Dwayne Bravo has had a long relationship with Indian cricket due to his stints with the Indian Premier League. Bravo has been a star performer for franchises like Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions, although he missed the entire season this year due to an injury.
Darren Bravo too has had a brief stint in the IPL with the Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders, but has failed to really make any impact.
In an image tweeted by the BCCI, the Bravo brothers were seen sharing a light moment with MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant.
Dwayne Bravo shares a good bond with most of the Indian players. Last year when India and West Indies played two T20Is in Florida, it was Bravo who ensured the Windies won the first match when he bowled a tight last over and got the better of MS Dhoni, who could not finish the match for India.
