Nissan, a Japanese car brand will be launching the facelifted model of its popular hatchback – Micra in India today. The new Nissan Micra is speculated to come with minor cosmetic updates which will proffer the hatchback with a stylish look while the mechanical front remains untouched. The new Micra facelift will be the second facelifted model to be launched in India from Nissan’s portfolio after Terrano facelift. Intended to revive the sales in the lucrative hatchback segment, the company will be betting big on the facelifted model as the fifth generation Micra will not be launched in the country any time soon. In order to make the new Micra attractive for the buyers, the company will sport minor cosmetic updates along with host of features as it is the only hatchback available in Nissan’s portfolio for the domestic market. The company revealed the launch of new Micra through social media platform which will sport minor updates as well as feature inclusions. Introduced in the year 2012, the hatchback received many updates in order to make it as an appealing deal for the buyers. In terms of features, the new Micra hatchback will be equipped with auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, reverse parking camera and a new touchscreen infotainment system and more.
Powering the new Micra facelift will be the same set of engines already available on the current version. The 1.2-litre petrol engine can develop 73 bhp and 104 Nm of power figures while the 1.5-litre diesel will produce 63.1 bhp of max power and 160 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a CVT gearbox as an option.
