WhatsApp to discontinue support for older versions of Windows Phone
Earlier in the month we have reported that WhatsApp will stop supporting or pushing updates to some of the older versions of the Operating System which included BlackBerry OS, Windows Phone 7+ and Nokia Symbian S 40 and S60 along with earlier versions of Android by June 30 2017.
Today in a new report coming from its Co founder Brian Acton who confirms that the company is now extending support for Blackberry OS and Nokia S40 till end of 2017. WhatsApp Users with Blackberry OS 7+ and Blackberry 10 along with Nokia S 40 will now be able to use the popular messaging app till end of this year.
WhatsApp will only discontinue support for Nokia S60 devices from July 1 onwards and Older versions of Android and Windows Phone. Below is the complete list of Supported and Unsupported Devices:
Supported devices:  
  • Android 2.3.3+
  • Windows Phone 8+
  • iOS 7+
Supported until end of 2017:
  • Nokia S40
  • BlackBerry OS 7+
  • BlackBerry 10
Note: The BlackBerry Priv and DTEK50 are supported Android devices.
Supported until June 30, 2017:
  • Nokia S60
